THE END OF YEAR CELEBRATION FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024: NLCS HCMC AFFIRMS EXCEPTIONAL TEACHING QUALITY

NLCS HCMC Parents were bursting with joy, pride, and emotions when witnessing students exhibiting their artworks and showcasing their talents on the stage in the End of Year Celebration for the school year 2023-2024.  

This special occasion allows students at each academic level to present their projects, showcase their artwork, and participate in a special musical performance. Parents can witness the students’ dedicated work and effort throughout the school year through these engaging and visually appealing activities. 

NLCS HCMC affirms the exceptional teaching quality that nurtures students in multiple facets: international mindset, knowledge application, and performance skills. The school emphasizes the connection between students and parents, coming together to celebrate the students’ meaningful and experiential learning journey.

Let’s look back at the precious moments of the End of Year Celebration for the school year 2023-2024!

1. IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES 

The joy of learning among NLCS HCMC students was powerfully depicted through creative presentations, engaging group interactions with parents, and the showcasing of the exceptional knowledge gained throughout the past school year. 

In NLCS’s creative studio-like classes, parents attentively listened to the Grade 1 student’s presentations.

The Grade 1 students played various animals in a lively play to share their knowledge about the Food Chain and Natural Creatures 

and joined their parents in engaging and creative group activities related to the subject topics.

During their in-class activities, our Grade 2 students demonstrated their global citizenship spirit by organising an exciting quiz activity together with their parents. This engaging activity highlighted the extensive knowledge they have acquired while also fostering a shared understanding of pressing environmental issues such as urbanisation, water scarcity, and the protection of natural resources and magnetic energy. 

Parents were utterly astonished and deeply impressed by this special activity that their children hosted themselves.

Students shared the knowledge they had gained with their parents, conveying meaningful messages about environmental protection. 

Driven by their passion for science, Grade 3-4 students at NLCS HCMC delivered captivating presentations using Canva-designed slides and websites to convey meaningful and profound messages about Ecology. 

Students demonstrated their proactive approach and nurtured teamwork spirit by collaborating on content synthesis, design, and research projects, showcasing the values fostered at NLCS HCMC.

The students were also very proactive in seeking advice and asking for support from their teachers when needed… 

and confidently presented, answering many intriguing questions about the Earth for their parents.

Beyond engaging in creative group activities, students also interacted with their parents through engaging hands-on experiments related to the topic.

 

2. ARTWORK EXHIBITION

The artwork exhibition is a highlighted activity in the End of Year Celebration for the school year 2023-2024. 

NLCS HCMC places a strong emphasis on nurturing students’ artistic potential through a diverse range of experiences in the talent subjects. The school is immensely proud of its students’ enthusiasm and passion for various artistic techniques, transforming traditional painting with innovative blending and colouration methods. 

The exhibition space fosters students’ creativity and encourages them to express their ideas in every corner. 

Creative collage artworks came to life through the students’ engaging presentations. 

Parents were also treated to confident presentations by their children on their digital art creations, showcasing the techniques they employed to bring their unique pieces to life… 

… as well as joined their children in other creative activities. 

3. PERFORMANCES

The memorable End of Year Celebration for the school year 2023-2024 concluded with a series of captivating performances by the students, serving a tribute to their teachers and parents. 

Throughout this year, NLCS HCMC students embarked on a journey of musical exploration, participating in a diverse range of specialised arts programmes. These programmes nurtured their talents in playing a variety of instruments, fostering an open-minded approach to music and a willingness to embrace innovation. 

The End of Year Celebration commenced with an engaging introduction by two talented young MCs from NLCS HCMC.

Students confidently showcased their talents in renditions of the famous songsI want something just like this and “Believer, demonstrating their harmony, mutual respect, and team spirit. 

The medley of “BIG BAND” and “RITMO SABROSO” was performed with PURE VOCALS and SKILLFUL PLAYING OF THE HANDBELLS by Grade 1 students. 

The familiar melody from “THE PINK PANTHER” film was refreshed through the use of BOOMWHACKER, XYLOPHONE, AND GLOCKENSPIEL instruments in the performance by Grade 2 of NLCS HCMC.

The rendition of Believer showcased their INNER VOICES, ALONG WITH THE ACCOMPANIMENT OF THE RECORDER AND PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS.

NLCS HCMC COMMUNITY 

Joining their children at the End of Year Celebration, parents were filled with pride and joy at the effort and dedication their children have put in throughout the year. 

“I was truly surprised to see my child confidently presenting and performing music in front of a crowd, something she had never been able to do before!” 

 “He made remarkable progress in mathematics after two years at NLCS HCMC. He could solve complex problems and achieved impressive results in mathematics competitions.” – Parent of a Grade 2 student. 

 “After just two years at NLCS HCMC, my child’s English skills exceeded our family’s expectations. She writes essays, composes poetry, and presents projects in English naturally and fluently.” – Parent of a Grade 2 student.  

“My child redefined our perception of art and creativity. Listening to her share about her work, combining Digital Art and Collage Art, we were truly impressed!” – Parent of a Grade 4 students. 

The joy and pride of parents when witnessing their children’s accomplishments in this school year. 

At the End of Year Celebration of the school year 2023 – 2024, Ms. Gemma McCarron, NLCS HCMC Head of Junior School, shared profound and inspiring remarks: “We come together today to acknowledge and celebrate the children’s incredible learning journeys; not only their growth academically, but also their creativity as showcased in our art exhibition, and the talent demonstrated just now in our musical performances.” 

 She emphasised that this school year, the students have made incredible progress. Their confidence and personalities have blossomed, and their inquisitiveness and love for learning have been a constant source of inspiration for all the teachers and staff.
